Understand the scope of a joint-work quote

A useful quote makes included work and unresolved information visible. Compare the described scope as well as the total amount.

Check areas and quantities

Are rooms, connections and approximate quantities identifiable? Linear metres describe something different from square metres. For several rooms, the mapping should stay clear.

Read the preparation work

Existing-joint removal, substrate preparation and new installation are separate steps. The actual quote determines which are included. An uncertain existing build-up may require further checks.

Clarify assumptions and extras

Look for substrate, access and build-up assumptions. Ask about concealed damage, inaccessible areas and possible additional work. Agree changes to the scope before they are carried out.

Discuss organisation and care

Agree access, installation period and reuse arrangements alongside the scope. Care and use instructions apply to the actual product and agreed installation.
